The order written by President Donald Trump was to declassify a lot of documentation around the FBI’s case against Carter Page. This order covered a lot of classified materials, including data that was presented to the FISA Court to get warrants for the investigation. There is the rub. The Christopher Steele dossier is a part of this. Britain has expressed some concerns and does not want declassification because of Steele being a former agent. president Trump has slow the process down.

Trump ordered Monday the release of a slew of documents from the Russia probe, including a June 2017 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) application granted against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. But the Republican suddenly backtracked Friday, saying that he would refer declassification issues to the Department of Justice’s Office of the Inspector General.
