Democratic committee leaders eye ambitious agenda if they flip the House

So sure are they that they will get their way in November, the Democratic Party is already rolling out their ambitious agenda for 2019 and 2020. Without doing any research or even reading their brochure, you can just about guarantee that there will be massive tax increases and lots of spending on the favorite parts of their agenda. Let us guess that open borders and globalization are way up on the top of the lists. Did anyone mention impeachments? Probably President Donald Trump and Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh will be targeted. Not that they can get anywhere with it. It will just be the political sport of it that matters. Here is what they have revealed, so far.

They are also vowing to aggressively probe the actions of the Trump administration — an oversight role Democrats contend was virtually abandoned by Republicans.

“Basically, a lot of the committees have just been rubber stamps for this administration,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee.

Because Democrats have long honored a system of seniority without term limits, the top Democrats on House panels are considered favorites to jump into chairmanships if control of the House changes hands.
