In case you have not been paying attention to current events, the actions of the State of California in defiance of the Federal Government is strikingly similar to the run to the Civil War that began on this soil in 1860. This is a scenario that is too bitter to think about and it is even harder to write and speak about it. There are a lot of people who recognize the pattern and wonder just how long the Federal Government can allow this rebellion (that is what it is) to continue. Of course, we do not want to go there. Hopefully, the Left will not push the envelope any further.

But how about the question of who would win? Kurt Schlichter on Town Hall takes a cold, hard look at the question and concludes (correctly) that the blue-staters would get their posteriors handed to them. His article, titled “Why Democrats Would Lose the Second Civil War, Too,” is must-reading, albeit unpleasant to contemplate. I think he is highly realistic……
